Beta FAQs

What’s in it for me?
You’re invited to join other farmers and growers with an interest in lifelong learning and skills development who can tell us how you think the TIAH learning hub works, and what sort of resources it needs to help make access to training easier.
This is a unique opportunity to help shape the future success of the industry, and people who work in it, by improving support for continuous learning. On top of that, if you complete one of our courses you can even gain a certificate and CPD points!
How much time do I need to give for beta testing?
We recommend you give as much time as you’re able, aiming for about 60 minutes each month. The 60 minutes does not have be done in one go – as an example, you could break this into three separate 20 minutes blocks. It’s important you keep coming back to continue any learning you’ve started or see what new content has been added.
What sorts of things should I be looking for in the online service?
We don’t want to give you too many instructions as we're trying to understand if you're able to find what you’re looking for without direction. But here are some things to you could try and do:
- Find a job profile that matches your role or a role that you’re interested in
- Find and fill in your capability profile
- Search for training providers near you
- Search for online training that would help you in your job
- Have a go at one of TIAH’s Essential Skills modules
If there are things you don’t understand, you can’t find, or that you expected to be able to do or see, please tell us.
How do I give feedback?
When looking around the TIAH website, you can quickly give us feedback by clicking the 'Share your feedback' button, which appears at the bottom left of the site.
Also, when you are inside our learning hub you’ll find a link to Give us feedback inside the main navigation menu on the left of the page. Click on that and you’ll be taken to a form where you can have your say.
Alternatively you can contact us directly with any queries or feedback by emailing beta@tiah.org.
How often should I give feedback?
Please give feedback as often as you can while you’re using the online service. There'll be open online feedback sessions with members of the TIAH team that you'll be invited to join.
How do I create my login?
As a first step, please sign up to create your account. You will be asked for an email address which will act as your username. The email you use must be unique to you and cannot be a shared email with other colleagues or family members.
Why can’t I use a shared email address?
This is because the online learning and any certificates or CPD points you earn will be attached to that email address. If multiple people are using the same email address, the results will not be accurate.
How do I update my details after I've created my profile?
You’ll need to be logged in to update your information. When logged in, your name will be in the top right-hand corner. Click on it and then on 'My profile'. You’ll then see your details and if you want to update anything, click 'Change'.
What does beta testing mean?
It’s a process that helps identify any issues with the online service before it's released to the wider industry as part of our future membership services.
Why does this testing need to be done?
The online service is still under development. There's more content to come and more functionality too. But to make sure what's being added is what farmers and growers want, it's important we have real people trying things out. Your input is vital to ensuring it contains everything that's needed.
Thank you for your time!
