TIAH sponsors the OFC Inspire programme, which supports 18 individuals involved in the rural, food and farming sector, who demonstrate leadership potential and have never attended the Oxford Farming Conference before.

The Inspire programme provides participants with a bursary to enable them to attend the main conference in January. We host additional learning and development activities with them during the year.

The recent two-day session, held on 17 and 18 May, involved a communications skills session with Kim Stafford, Director of U&I Learning, a networking dinner, and a tour of JCB Agriculture in Staffordshire. During this tour, John Smith, Managing Director at the manufacturer, and his colleagues gave the group an insight into how the factory and farm businesses are run.

Tess Howe, our Head of Membership and Partnerships, said: “The feedback we have had from the Inspire delegates has been very positive – they enjoyed being challenged by Kim during the communications skills session, and the tour of JCB Agriculture provided a great insight into the running of a successful, large agricultural business. We’re very grateful to Kim, John, and the OFC team for their support.”
