The meeting allowed us to share with The Duchess the background to our formation, describe our work, and explain how we collaborate with farmers, growers, and other agricultural and horticultural partners.

TIAH's founding patron, Lord Curry of Kirkharle and our Chair David Fursdon, explained the background of TIAH and our strategic priorities. Chief Executive Janet Swadling OBE and our Head of Digital, Luke Harmer, provided an overview of what we're doing to support farmers and growers in improving their skills and promoting careers in the industry.

Luke gave a live demonstration of our new online service, which is currently in its testing phase, before our upcoming membership launch.

We were very grateful to be joined during the visit by Stephen Jacob, Chief Executive of BASIS, who will succeed Janet as TIAH Chief Executive, and Sarah Palmer, Agriculture, Rural Issue and PR Manager at the National Federation of Young Farmers Clubs (NFYFC).

Janet said: “We were delighted to have the opportunity to explain the background to TIAH and some of our work. It was so encouraging to see Her Royal Highness’s interest and real insight into the need for collaboration and coordination within the industry, which TIAH aims to achieve.

"We’re extremely grateful to Stephen and Sarah for joining the visit and to Berkshire College of Agriculture for enabling us to be part of such a successful event.”
