Everyone on farm, regardless of role, needs to understand these key issues to ensure the industry’s continued improvement.
Why not complete one or more of the learning modules in these key areas which we've developed in collaboration with industry experts.
These learning paths - each a series of modules or learning resources to develop knowledge and skills in a particular topic - allow learners to gain and annually refresh knowledge at their own pace.

Foundations in farm safety (for farm workers)
This learning path contains four modules designed to help all farm workers improve their recognition of hazards, understand how to effectively manage risks, and best practice around reporting of incidents. Its aims are to:
- Increase the uptake of health and safety training across the industry
- Develop positive behavioural change to improve health and safety on farm
- Promote compliance with best practices for health and safety
- Improve health and safety statistics on farms
- Support health and safety improvements and record-keeping
- Achieve a positive sense of health and safety on farm


Animal health and welfare
This learning path will help you understand how animal welfare can affect safety, efficiency and profitability on a farm. Its aims are to:

- Increase awareness of the issues around animal health and welfare, including animal biosecurity
- Promote and improve compliance with animal health and welfare regulations
- Improve recognition and delivery of animal health and welfare best practice

Biosecurity
This module focuses on biosecurity and is applicable to all farmers and growers, whether you’re new to the topic or as a refresher. Its aims are to:
- Increase awareness and understanding of biosecurity, and the implications of poor biosecurity
- Increase understanding of the importance of preventing, detecting, and responding to harmful organisms
- Ensure all farm workers understand personal biosecurity measures
- Ensure continued biosecurity measures to prevent new pests and diseases
- Protect the economic and environmental benefits of healthy plants and animals


Coaching for staff retention
This learning path covers essential coaching skills that, with practice, you can develop to become a great workplace coach, resulting in improved productivity and staff retention. Its aims are to:

- Introduce the benefits of coaching and the core skills, behaviours, skills and knowledge needed for success
- Improve active listening and thoughtful questioning skills to build on goal setting and problem solving abilities
- Develop techniques for overcoming limiting beliefs which can otherwise hinder someone's personal development
- Increase understanding of how coaching can be applied in a variety of situations
